City Libraries Make Create Day - Saturday 28 October 2017
 
Make Create Day will be a simultaneous family fun day of programs, workshops and events showcasing activities with a maker or creative focus across our library locations. Programs and activities will be interactive, hands on, with something for everyone in the areas of science, engineering, the arts and technology. Discover a new craft, make something, learn a new skill and connect with your local community.  Featured events include:
 
Lego Mindstorms robotics workshops with Robogals
Join Robogals for an interactive introduction to coding with Lego Mindstorms EV3 robots at Robina Library. Book online now or phone 5581 1600.
 
Comics, Manga and Cartooning
Illustrate your own cartoon character and make a comic creation during this hands-on workshop. Suitable for adults and teens. Broadbeach Library 10am to noon.

Make a mini electric car
Drop-in, get hands on and make your own electric mini car with students from Tallebudgera State School. All ages welcome. Elanora Library 10am to 2pm. No bookings required.
 
Young entrepreneurs with wearable technology
Drop-in and be inspired with junior entrepreneurs from Tallebudgera State School as they showcase their concept and wearable technology invention at Elanora Library 10am to 2pm. No bookings required.

BRONZE MEDALLION COURSES
 
Complete your Bronze Medallion course with Accredited Training Company at Miami Pool.
Lyn Quirk, our head instructor, runs updates for Bronze Medallion and The Royal Life Saving Pool Lifeguard Certificate every Thursday at Miami Aquatic Centre. The course includes a CPR update on one of our scheduled first aid courses.

Volunteers sought for Gold Coast Schoolies
Every year up to 30,000 school leavers are estimated to visit the Gold Coast in order to celebrate the commencement of the next chapter of their lives.  Over 1,000 Volunteers participate each year at the Gold Coast Schoolies Community Safety Response with a variety of organisations and support the school leavers to celebrate with their mates safely.  Volunteering with other like-minded community citizens is self-rewarding and great fun. Camp Australia Before and After School Care
 
B​ookings are still available 5 mornings and afternoons but places are filling fast so please visit www.campaustralia.com.au and register your child with Camp Australia Currumbin. Casual, permanent, fortnightly or emergency bookings are all available. Camp Australia is here to assist you in any way they can. Currumbin Tennis Club
 
  Hello all you ladies out there who would like to pick up their racquets and join in social play at Currumbin Tennis Club, a volunteer run Club situated on the banks of Currumbin Creek, which you all  know is such a beautiful and ideal location.  
 
 The Club has two synthetic grass courts and you can elect to play on any  Wednesday, Thursday and Friday mornings (or all three if you wish!).  Play commences at 8.30 am and usually three sets are played, however if you are unable to get there before 9.30 am (which is the cut off time) you are welcome to join in but three sets cannot be guaranteed.  
 
The cost of play for members is $5.00 and for
non members $8.00.  Annual membership fees are $60 per year (with Junior membership $20  and Family membership $90).  Please call 0420314640 or 0400194644 to have a chat and find out more about our Club.  
The courts are available for casual hire both day and night by contacting 55341718 direct.
