Currumbin Primary School in conjunction with the Gold Coast City Council has initiated an Active School Travel program, that we call 'Foot It Friday'. The aim of the program is to improve our communities physical activity and to reduce the amount of traffic at school.

The concept of 'Foot It Friday" highlights the fact that over 65% of our school students arrive by car each day. We are hoping parents who travel by car to school might consider parking at alternate locations, such as Salk Oval, RSL tennis courts and Duringan St Picnic Area and walking the last 200-300m to school. This gives the family 5-10 minutes extra exercise each day and reduces congestion around school.

All students now have Active School Travel passports in their class. They will achieve a stamp each Friday if they walk, ride, scoot, skate, carpool or bus to school. When they collect 5 stamps a great incentive prize will be given out.
